Motor Vehicle Accidents

Motor vehicle accidents include cars, trucks, vans, buses, SUV's, and motorcycles, and may involve one vehicle, multiple vehicles and pedestrians. With the record number of cars on the road today, car accidents are very common. Auto accidents can cause extreme physical injury to victims. Sometimes the severity of injuries don't fully manifest until a few days after the car accident. Most often, auto accidents are caused by another driver's negligence or recklessness. In these cases, The Law Offices of Jeffrey S. Kimmel will negotiate with the insurance company of the guilty party to settle your claim and will secure compensation for you based upon the severity of your injury and your pain and suffering.
Moreover,  New York State has rules that regulate the medical benefits and rights of people injured in auto accidents, so in addition to the settlement and litigation process, we also file your No Fault claim. These are benefits paid by the insurance company of the car you were driving, was a passenger in, or were struck by as a pedestrian, regardless of fault as to the cause of the accident. These benefits include payment of medical bills, prescription drugs, lost wages, housekeeping and/or transportation to and from medical providers, all as the result of the accident. There is a very short time, only 30 days from the date of the accident, in order to file an application for these benefits.  As such, it is important to contact us as soon as practical after your accident.
